Between the Lines: Poetry and Prose

Poetic expression should prompt the need for several concepts that are true necessities for our well being and within the environments  we dwell. There's no inclination to the state of our  economic sector. Learning to love ourselves is where change should start. I encourage that we do more and write about these things to share our thought-provoking experiences. . .

Here's a couple of ancient poems I wrote along time ago (about 10 years back). I thought these would temporarily be the pick of the month.  There's more prose and poetry to come. . .

Change

Hummingbirds rapidly migrate South

                 No morning chirping

Or tiny flocks on the muddy front lawn

                  under the exposed oak trees

          Leaves have boisterously camouflaged

                   the wet cement

While thick masses of fog occupies

                   space and time

            The atmosphere is painted with

                   Streaks of dullness

Surrounding Christopher  jr. who runs  home  from school that tightly grips Jack-o-Lantern

                      Everyone is identical

Heavy wool caps, warm insulated gloves

And carrying a box of soothing kleenex

            Unfortunate vagrants that huddle around

                     life sized bongos

                      lit with bright acrobatic flames

 What She Said

With every thump of my heart

        Colder & colder

like a December’s day

        My body temperature deteriorates

            Loneliness chews me up

                All my fingers are icicles

                            Leaving me as Mr. Frostbite’s

Pictures of the Month

Surprise bouquet

The first picture is of my home town Chicago. I did not take this picture, but I wanted to show you all a glimpse of a city that has some potential in music sector, consulting, and culture. The second picture is a photo of a surprise bouquet "just because" from my boyfriend. This picture was approximately taken a couple years ago in the last apartment.
